Breathing Therapy

Image
The nose has a left and a right side; we use both to inhale and exhale. Actually they are different; you would be able to feel the difference. The right side represents the sun, left side represents the moon. During a headache, try to close your right nose and use your left nose to breathe. In about 5 mins, your headache will be gone? If you feel tired, just reverse, close your left nose and breathe through your right nose. After a while, you will feel your mind is refreshed. Right side belongs to 'hot', so it gets heated up easily, left side belongs to 'cold'. Most females breathe with their left noses, so they get "cooled off" faster. Most of the guys breathe with their right noses, they get worked up. Do you notice the moment we wake up, which side breathes faster? Left or right? If left is faster, you will feel tired. So, close your left nose and use your right nose for breathing, you will get refreshed quickly. This alternative natural therapy without med...

In Memory of Mohammad Rafi

Image
Not only the country, but Indians all around the world were stunned on 31st July 1980 when the great legend and singer Mohammad Rafi left this world to indulge the heavens with his silky voice. His 'last journey' commenced from 'Rafi Villa' in Bandra on that sad and wet day as tears from heaven fell on earth, but The Voice never left us... The Beginner's Guide to Being Cheap

 - BY TARA CONRY Are you a repentant spend thrift who's thinking that all this frugality is looking pretty sexy? Dip your toe into the cut-rate pool with these tips on getting the most out of what you have. Separate your bananas to keep them yellow longer. Bananas produce ethylene, a gas that causes them to ripen, and separating the bunch can slow down that process. Seal lettuce in a ziplock bag with a moistened paper towel to add days of leafy goodness. Shake the excess water off your disposable razor, then dip it in rubbing alcohol and store it in a dry place (do not leave it in your  shower). This will clean the blade, stave off rusting, and add weeks of shaving life. Flip your mattress and rotate it every three months to extend its life span. As for couch cushions, don't just flip them swap them with one another so they don't become molds of your family's backs and butts. Halve the amount of soap, toothpaste, shampoo, and detergent you use you probably won't not...

Why men don't write advice columns?

Dear Walter: I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn't gone more than a mile down the road when my engine conked out and the car shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband's help. When I got home I couldn't believe my eyes. He was in the bedroom with a neighbor lady. I am 32, my husband is 34 and we have been married for twelve years. When I confronted him, he broke down and admitted that he'd been having an affair for the past six months. I told him to stop or I would leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum he has become increasingly distant. I don't feel I can get through to him anymore. Can you please help? Sincerely, Mrs... The best leaders take their lessons wherever they find them - whether in the hard knocks of experience, the generosity of their mentors or the clear gaze of their employees. Far more than their Western counterparts, Indian leaders and their organizations have made a mark in global business and some of the best practices in the world are adopted from Indian companies. To discover how Indian leaders drive their organizations to high performance, here are few lessons that they have shared: Mukesh Ambani:  Building morale: Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, the largest private sector enterprise in India says that building morale is what he values the most. He says that motivating people is very important and mastering the art of people management will be a key achievement for any leader. He says that adopting this can also give a competitive edge to a company.  Azim Premji: Intuitions are important for making decisions : It is important to realiz...

Woman and a Fork

Image
There was a young woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and had been given three months to live. So as she was getting her things 'in order,' she contacted her Pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes. She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in. Everything was in order and the Pastor was preparing to leave when the young woman suddenly remembered something very important to her. 'There's one more thing,' she said excitedly. 'What's that?' came the Pastor's reply. 'This is very important,' the young woman continued. 'I want to be buried with a fork in my right hand.' The Pastor stood looking at the young woman, not knowing quite what to say.  That surprises you, doesn't it?' the young woman asked. 'Well, to be honest, I'm puzzled by the request,' said the Pastor. The...

During lunch break one afternoon at work, Rajgopalan and Shankar were chatting.... Rajgopalan : Shankar, I've been working late every day since I have joined here & hence I got a promotion this appraisal. Shankar : How could it be Raj? Is that the only secret? Rajgopalan : No, in the process of staying after office hours, I browse net and have also gathered a lot of General Knowledge; my boss also asked me such questions at appraisal time.  Shankar : Like what? Rajgopalan : For example, do you know who is Graham Bell? Shankar : No Rajgopalan : He's the inventor of the phone in 1876; if you spent more time in office after office hours you would know this! The next day, the same discussion took place: Rajgopalan : Do you know who Alexander Dumas is? Shankar : No Rajgopalan : He's the author of "The 3 Musketeers", if you spent more time in office after office hours you would know this! The next day, once again: Rajgopalan : And do you know who Jean Jacques Rousse...
