That's what we call "Self Appraisal"

Image
A little boy went into a drug store, reached for a soda carton and pulled it  over to the telephone. He climbed onto the carton so that he could reach the buttons on the phone and proceeded to punch in seven digits (phone numbers). The store-owner observed and listened to the conversation: Boy: "Lady, Can you give me the job of cutting your lawn? Woman: (at the other end of the phone line): "I already have someone to cut my lawn."  Boy: "Lady, I will cut your lawn for half the price of the person who cuts  your lawn now." Woman: I'm very satisfied with the person who is presently cutting my lawn. Boy: (with more perseverance) : "Lady, I'll even sweep your curb and your  sidewalk, so on Sunday you will have the prettiest lawn in all of Palm beach, Florida." Woman: No, thank you. With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver. The  store-owner, who was listening to all this, walked over to the boy. Store Owner: ...

Always Follow Your Dreams

Image
There were once 2 brothers who lived on the 80th level. On coming home one day, they realized to their dismay that the lifts were not working and that they have to climb the stairs home. After struggling to the 20th level, panting and tired, they decided to abandon their bags and come back for them the next day. They left their bags then and climbed on. When they have struggled to the 40th level, the younger brother started to grumble and both of them began to quarrel. They continued to climb the flights of steps, quarreling all the way to the 60th floor. They then realized that they have only 20 levels more to climb and decided to stop quarreling and continue climbing in peace. They silently climbed on and reached their home at long last. Each stood calmly before the door and waited for the other to open the door. And they realized that the key was in their bags which was left on the 20th floor This story is reflecting on our life...many of us live under the expectations of our parent...

Monica married Hitesh this day. At the end of the wedding party, Monica's mother gave her a newly opened bank saving passbook. With Rs.1000 deposit amount. Mother: 'Monica, take this passbook. Keep it as a record of your marriage life. When there's something happy and memorable happened in your new life, put some money in. Write down what it's about next to the line. The more memorable the event is, the more money you can put in. I've done the first one for you today. Do the others with Hitesh. Two Wolves

Image
O ne evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about  a battle that goes on inside all people. He said, 'My son, the battle is  between two 'wolves' inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy,  jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment,  inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope,  serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth,  compassion and faith.' The grandson thought about it for a minute and  then asked his grandfather: 'Which wolf wins?' The old Cherokee simply  replied, 'The one you feed.'

Lesson on Seasons of Life

Image
The following pictures are of the same place but taken under different seasons!! There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away. The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall. When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen. The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son said no it was covered with green buds and full of promise. The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment. The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but only o...

Dream Facts and Tidbits

Image
One-third of your lives is spent sleeping. In an average  lifetime, you would have spent a total of about six years of it dreaming. That is more than 2,100 days spent in a different realm! Dreams have been here as long as mankind.  Back in the Roman Era, striking and significant dreams were submitted to the Senate for analysis and interpretation. Everybody dreams. EVERYBODY! Simply because you do not remember your dream does not mean that you do not dream. Dreams are indispensable.  A lack of dream activity can mean protein deficiency or a personality disorder. We dream on average of one or two hours every night. And we often even have 4-7 dreams in one night. Blind people do dream.  Whether visual images will appear in their dream depends on  whether they where blind at birth or became blind later in life. But vision is not the only sense that constitutes a dream. Sounds, tactility, and smell become hypersensitive for the blind and their dreams are based ...

The Fern and the Bamboo

Image
... A beautiful story     One day I decided to quit... I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality... I wanted to quit my life. I went to the woods to have one last talk with God. "God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?" His answer surprised me... "Look around", He said.. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?" "Yes", I replied. "When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor.  Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo". He said. "In the third year, there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit. In the fourth year, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would...
