Just Think - About It

Image
Today before you think of saying an unkind word Think of someone who can't speak Before you complain about the taste of your food Think of someone who has nothing to eat Before you complain about your husband or wife Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion Today before you complain about life Think of someone who went too early to heaven Before you complain about your children Think of someone who desires children but they're barren Before you argue about your dirty house; someone didn't clean or sweep Think of the people who are living in the streets Before whining about the distance you drive Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet And when you are tired and complain about your job Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker And when depressing though...

Advertising Trains People to Behave like Lab Rats

Image
Do you ever read about experiments in which lab rats are used to test a psychological premise? Researchers set up a food dispensing system in which the lab rat presses a lever to get a little piece of food. You can train a lab rat to do all sorts of different things just to have the right to press that lever. It doesn’t take rats long to realize that the lever is associated with dispensing food, and food, of course, makes them feel good. Now, imagine a 50-year-old overweight man standing in front of a soft drink vending machine. He’s looking over the menu, trying to decide which item to request. He inserts a few quarters, presses a button, and gets a carbonated beverage. He pops it open, guzzles it down, and gets the brain-chemistry-altering effect that soft drinks deliver to the human nervous system. In this society, you can train a human being to do just about anything, as long as you attach it to an alteration in brain chemistry that’s either pleasurable or avoids pain. You can trai...

Health Problems caused by Computer

Image
I am frequent computer user. Of course it's interesting to know how danger for my health computer can be. Working with computer for whole day is not rare nowadays. If it's an aspect of our work or if we use computers just for fun, there are certain risks involved with prolonged computer use. It's the first what occur to us, when we talk about computer harm. Prolonged computer use could be linked to glaucoma, especially among those who are short-sighted. Our eyes are very badly affected by how long you stare at that bright screen. We stop blinking and start staring which makes our eyes strain and dry out. Make sure you look away from the screen and close them for a few seconds every few minutes. Bad posture is enemy number one. Check your posture now! You should be able to reach the keyboard and mouse whilst bending your elbows at 90 degrees, with your shoulders relaxed. If you are stretching, this could cause problems. Your back should be straight and the top of the monitor...

Just Do It Anyway.

Image
People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of being selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight, Build anyway If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you have anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway! - Mother Theresa NOTE : Why is the car windshield so large & rearview mirror so small ? Because your past is not as important as your future. So, look ahead and move on !! ...

Why a 'Leader' is misleading?

Image
From the site of Nigel Collin... It occurs to me that the term ‘leader’ is one of those terms that is bandied about with a plethora of different interpretations. So I looked up a few meanings in ‘Word’ (yeah I know it isn’t very extensive research but…) here’s what I got. Somebody in charge of others Somebody whom people follow Musical conductor Line at the end of fishing line Guide in printed matter Of all of those the only one that really excites me is ‘Musical Conductor’. Here’s why. I reckon the role of a leader has changed. It is no longer effective to rally the troupes and expect them to follow you as you head off into the wilderness with your blunderbuss in one hand and a machete in the other. Especially when it comes to working with creative people. A great leader inspires his people, gives them direction and lets them blaze the trail. It’s like a being the inspiration leader of a professional sports team. The leader doesn’t get on the field with the team; instead they set the ...
