That's what we call "Self Appraisal"

Image
A little boy went into a drug store, reached for a soda carton and pulled it  over to the telephone. He climbed onto the carton so that he could reach the buttons on the phone and proceeded to punch in seven digits (phone numbers). The store-owner observed and listened to the conversation: Boy: "Lady, Can you give me the job of cutting your lawn? Woman: (at the other end of the phone line): "I already have someone to cut my lawn."  Boy: "Lady, I will cut your lawn for half the price of the person who cuts  your lawn now." Woman: I'm very satisfied with the person who is presently cutting my lawn. Boy: (with more perseverance) : "Lady, I'll even sweep your curb and your  sidewalk, so on Sunday you will have the prettiest lawn in all of Palm beach, Florida." Woman: No, thank you. With a smile on his face, the little boy replaced the receiver. The  store-owner, who was listening to all this, walked over to the boy. Store Owner: ...

Always Follow Your Dreams

There were once 2 brothers who lived on the 80th level. On coming home one day, they realized to their dismay that the lifts were not working and that they have to climb the stairs home. After struggling to the 20th level, panting and tired, they decided to abandon their bags and come back for them the next day. They left their bags then and climbed on. When they have struggled to the 40th level, the younger brother started to grumble and both of them began to quarrel. They continued to climb the flights of steps, quarreling all the way to the 60th floor. They then realized that they have only 20 levels more to climb and decided to stop quarreling and continue climbing in peace. They silently climbed on and reached their home at long last. Each stood calmly before the door and waited for the other to open the door. And they realized that the key was in their bags which was left on the 20th floor This story is reflecting on our life...many of us live under the expectations of our parent...

Love in Marriages

Image
Monica married Hitesh this day. At the end of the wedding party, Monica's mother gave her a newly opened bank saving passbook. With Rs.1000 deposit amount. Mother: 'Monica, take this passbook. Keep it as a record of your marriage life. When there's something happy and memorable happened in your new life, put some money in. Write down what it's about next to the line. The more memorable the event is, the more money you can put in. I've done the first one for you today. Do the others with Hitesh. When you look back after years, you can know how much happiness you've had.' Monica shared this with Hitesh when getting home. They both thought it was a great idea and were anxious to know when the second deposit can be made. This was what they did after certain time:  - 7 Feb: Rs.100, first birthday celebration for Hitesh after marriage  - 1 Mar: Rs.300, salary raise for Monica  - 20 Mar: Rs.200, vacation trip to Bali  - 15 Apr: Rs.2000, Monica got pregnant ...

Two Wolves

Image
O ne evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about  a battle that goes on inside all people. He said, 'My son, the battle is  between two 'wolves' inside us all. One is Evil. It is anger, envy,  jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment,  inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is Good. It is joy, peace, love, hope,  serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth,  compassion and faith.' The grandson thought about it for a minute and  then asked his grandfather: 'Which wolf wins?' The old Cherokee simply  replied, 'The one you feed.'

Lesson on Seasons of Life

Image
The following pictures are of the same place but taken under different seasons!! There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away. The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall. When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen. The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son said no it was covered with green buds and full of promise. The third son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment. The man then explained to his sons that they were all right, because they had each seen but only o...
